While I think it’s awesome that the Kite Festival is free, I also donated to help keep it accessible and running for years to come. It’s amazing to see an event that is truly multi-generational. Witnessing people of all ages come together and have fun is a beautiful thing. So many spaces across the city are commodified, and on an ecological level, parks are important. Everyone should have equal access to nature.
