Listening by Moonrise was a fun and relaxing music-driven experience against the backdrop of one of LA’s most beautiful urban parks—LA State Historic Park. The headliners played the perfect mix of ambient, ethereal music to a friendly crowd that rejoiced in the connection between nature and music— from the hum of the tree leafs to the clink of drink cups, the sounds merged with the vibrations of the instruments seamlessly.
This particular park is a reprieve from the concrete-heavy Downtown LA; with vast areas of grass, open spaces, tree lined paths and plants, you find yourself immediately slowing down, letting your otherwise excited nervous system to calm down.
The crowd spread out on the green field with picnic blankets, chairs, pillows and set themselves up for a relaxing evening of deep breaths and closed eyes at times, allowing the music to flow uninterrupted through their beings while the last sun rays of the evening graced the faces of those witnessing another perfect LA day.
Anytime you’re welcomed into a space where people from all walks of life can share a beautiful experience together, it makes you realize you are part of a bigger community, beyond your immediate street or neighborhood. It’s the sharing of space and time that brings the concept of togetherness front and center. It is a nice reminder of all the beauty that exists around us.
