Sabine Bitter and Helmut Weber, 2004

This installation ran from December 4 – January 10, 2004.

Since 1993, Vancouver and Vienna based artists Sabine Bitter (1960, Aigen i.M., Austria) and Helmut Weber (1957, Dorf/Pram, Austria) have collaborated on projects adressing urban geographies, architectural representations and related visual politics. Their series of photo- and video-works like “Recent Geographies”, “Caracas, Hecho en Venezuela” and “LIVE LIKE THIS!” engage with specific moments and cultural logics of (neoliberal) globalization, as they are materialized in architecture as a frame for spatial meaning. In 2004, Sabine Bitter, Jeff Derksen and Helmut Weber have formed the urban research collective Urban Subjects US. Since 2007 represented by Grita Insam Gallery, Vienna. See http://www.lot.at for further projects.
