Description

Join Clockshop as we explore the joys of watercoloring, using both watercolor pens and paint brushes. Local teaching artist Emily Perez will guide you through the foundations of watercolors through interactive exercises all the while encouraging you to unleash your creativity.

This workshop is a collaboration with The Nature Conservancy in support of their Bowtie Wetland Demonstration project. Which when opened to the public will have transformed a former rail yard along the L.A. River into a new California State Park filled with native plants and walking paths, all while improving water quality, reducing urban heat and more. Bringing about more green space to Northeast LA residents and families.

Come and stop by to learn more about this exciting new project that is demonstrating what nature-based climate solutions can do for Los Angeles and cities elsewhere.

Entry to this family-friendly event is free! No RSVP required.

ABOUT THIS SERIES
Clockshop is proud to continue our longstanding partnership and support of the Somos NELA Night Market by curating engaging artist workshops for all ages. Led and organized by non-profit LA Màs, the SOMOS NELA Night Market is a reflection of what’s possible when vendors take the lead and neighbors come together.

FACILITATOR
Emily Perez (b.1999, Los Angeles, CA) creates ceramic sculptures of animals and vessels shapred by a dreamy world of protection, intuition, and ancient instinct. She began her studies at Pasadena City Colleges and later earned a BFA in Ceramics from California State University, Long Beach. Before working in ceramics, Emily explored watercolor painting, developing a sensitivity to color and movement. Watercolor’s atmospheric, translucent, and intuitive qualities continue to inform Emily’s ceramic practice.
