Join Clockshop’s open call for Songs of Emerging Endangerment by artist TJ Shin! This project welcomes those connected to the East Asian–Australasian Flyway, which spans South, Southeast, and East Asia, as well as the Western and Central Pacific. We are accepting three minutes of imitated calls from endangered birds that migrate this route. The edited composition of recordings will be projected as part of Shin’s installation at the Los Angeles State Historic Park in October 2025.
In each round of the open call, participants mimic the voices of the previous ones, creating a structure of repetition and response. This process of interpretation between people and their environment explores how mimicry can generate sonic and collective identifications across distances and geographies.
