Artists Leo Limón and Roach will paint directly over the works of the previous C/S artists in the second iteration of Rafa Esparza’s revolving installation Con/Safos. C/S or Con/Safos is a site-specific sculpture and year long revolving installation by Rafa Esparza at the Bowtie Project. Special thanks to Chavos Tacos for catering.

This installation will run from May 5 – May 31, 2015

Leo Limón’s activities date back to the very formative years of the Chicano art movement in Los Angeles and over time, has reflected the vision, aspirations and images of his surroundings and roots. He has been involved with the art group Los Four and worked with Carlos Almaraz, the Mechicano Art Center, Plaza de la Raza and the Centro de Arte Publico. During his co-directorship at the Aztlan Cultural Arts Foundation, Inc. he assisted with the coordination of various projects including the L.A. River Catz restoration and re-creation project. His fine art silkscreen prints have been exhibited nationally and internationally, and he has created artwork for an early Frank Zappa album songbook. He is featured in the documentary “Leo Limon: Portrait of an Artist” produced by the California Ethnic and Multicultural Archives and the Chicano Studies Institute at the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Roach is a Los Angeles based street and graffiti artist.
