Reading by Moonrise is a fireside reading series held at the Bowtie Project on the eve of the full moon.
Amelia Gray is the author of four books: AM/PM, Museum of the Weird, THREATS, and Gutshot. Her fiction and essays have appeared in The New Yorker, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Tin House, and VICE. She has been a finalist for the PEN/Faulkner Award for Fiction, a NYPL Young Lion finalist, and the winner of the Ronald Sukenick Innovative Fiction Contest. She lives in Los Angeles.
Danzy Senna’s first novel, Caucasia, has been translated into ten languages and was named a Los Angeles Times Best Book of the Year. Senna is the recipient of a Whiting Award and a fellowship from the New York Public Library and her works include the novel, Symptomatic, a memoir, Where Did You Sleep Last Night? A Personal History, and the short story collection, You Are Free. Her essays on race, literature, gender and identity have appeared in a wide range of anthologies and publications, including The New Yorker, Vogue, and the New York Times. She lives in Los Angeles and her latest work, a novel, is forthcoming in 2017 from Riverhead Books.
