The Bowtie Project will host the closing night of the Ambulante California Documentary Film Festival with Paul Collins’ Yakona (2014) on Saturday October 4th. Special guest DJ Set by KCRW’s Dan Wilcox and Michelada truck on site.

Yakona , meaning “rising water” in a local Native American language, is a visual journey through the crystal clear waters of the San Marcos River and its headwaters at Spring Lake. This award winning documenary film takes the viewer from prehistoric times through the modern era on an impressionistic journey from the perspective of the river. Yakona is directed by Paul Collins and Anlo Sepulveda. (Runtime 85 minutes)
