The Clockshop’s 2026 Art & Environmental Advocacy Youth Fellowship cohort hosted a two-part event to celebrate their accomplishments with close family and friends.
The fellows spent much of the summer working together to conceptualize, design, and install a 50’ permanent mosaic mural at the Bowtie, in collaboration with local artist Andrés Cortes. During the first part of the final event, family and friends were invited to see the large-scale artwork onsite, followed by a reception at Clockshop.
At the Clockshop office, the fellows shared a bilingual presentation about their artwork, its manifold meanings, and the history of green space in Northeast LA. Attendees also had the opportunity to explore the website that the cohort created to contextualize the mosaic: mosaicatthebowtie.com.
The fellows and their community ended the night with conversation and laughter over a meal of flautas and tres leches cake.
