Los Angeles, CA
Three years ago, Clockshop launched Take Me to Your River: A Cultural Atlas of the LA River, a community storytelling initiative centered on the four rapidly changing neighborhoods of Elysian Valley, Cypress Park, Glassell Park, and Atwater Village. Throughout the project, we collected 80 oral histories from residents whose personal stories illuminate the unique experiences, memories, and relationships that have shaped these communities.
To celebrate these communities and the stories they foster, Clockshop has published the bilingual book Take Me to Your River / Llévame a tu Río, featuring five newly commissioned essays by local residents, a collection of photographs, and excerpts from the oral histories gathered over the course of the project.
Save the date to join us on Thursday, October 8, from 5:30–8:00 PM for a special publication launch and community celebration as we honor the stories, people, and places that shape these neighborhoods.
